These are exactly the things I want to modify. I also wish there were more ways to select notes.

When you say

do you refer to Video-play??
If so explain...?

LMMS has more ways than most other DAWs
* Select
* Point at
* under mouse
* invert

What are you missing, and what are the usecases?

thank you very much for your reply. First one, like some subtile editor, I can open any video such as mp4, avi, flv...play a video just like the sample wav track. The second one, I'm amazing you never need this function. If I want to do orchestration in some existing midi file, I have to split one track to two or more. So I can set different sf2 or sound lib for each note track. Just suggestion ,maybe, it's hard job, I don't know how to use souce code and use what program to editing code.

Adding a synchronized video play function would enhance user experience. Also, introducing multiple note selection options, like by volume and note length, would greatly improve editing versatility. These features would be a valuable addition.

Both are already in consideration.
Video in LMMS will come asa some yet unknown new dev steps in and says! "Look what i made"....
