How Do I play Sound Samples On A Midi Controller

I just purchased the Korg NanoKey2. I've seen people make pretty great remixes using a Launchpad and Ableton.
Is there a way to do that kind of stuff on LMMS. How?

you can play any of lmms instrument, including vst's from a connected

midi-keyboard.
For samples use AFP

Does that do it? 'dont know what a 'launchpad' is :p

Say I had 10 different sounds, I would like to be able to play them on the controller

Try a sampler plugin like these:

Load one in LMMS as VST and map your sounds inside it.

Which samplers have you tried ? Did your samples load into them o.k. ? What format are your sound samples in .ogg, .wav etc ? What sort of sounds are they ? What happens when you tried to play them ?
Just "wasn't able to get them to work" isn't really giving us much to go on.
