I need help with recreating this sound

Hi,
I've been trying to recreate this ringtone sound in LMMS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh8J5rmeTcY
and I can't quite get the last bit of the instrument. I came this close:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSmjk8bOc-M

I used a TripleOscillator, but actually using just one oscillator, a sine wave. And I added a reverb. That is it. What else can I do to get closer to the original sound?

LMMS project file:
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fi ... 5035468407
(I wasn't able to attach it to this message, it gives an error: "Could not upload attachment to ./files/2086_95ab8e2cbdd2a488ba8e1bc98783ca47.").

yes a problem has to be solved :)

I think you have done a great job, i also think that using an eq would be enough to enhance the freq you like and exclude other freq.
An approach could be like i do in this video, about instrument enhancement:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mFHDyWGh9c

and that only with the cpu friendly 10eq

Eq'ing, can really change a sound, so i would give that a try

Hm, equalizer didn't quite do it, or maybe I'm not that skilled with it (though it seems simple enough to manipulate). Any other ideas?

look at my first post, I've attached a preset (a link to it, that is). It sounds pretty similar, it's just missing something that I lack the words to describe... :) Kind of retro, lo-fi sound, or something.

Nice work Betalord. :D
I listened to both ringtone sounds.
The original ringtone and your version.
I must say, you came rather close, to the actual ringtone sound and melody. I'm impressed!
That is not an easy feat.

@musikbear, that was a rather impressive tutorial. Thank you for it. 8-)

Hello !
Your version sounds almost the same as the original ! Good job ;)
But there is still something more in the original, to me it is a phaser or a chorus effect (I'm not sure)
But your version sounds nice like this !

I gave it go, but something in pitch modulation is missing
changed your env to get rid of clicks, and added eq, + filter + overtone

Thanks musikbear! Though it is still far off. I understand your idea: you added another triangle wave to get those high frequencies and boosted them with equalizer. I think the original sound uses a different trick. I tried lowpassing your preset, with no success. This ringtone is an enigma to me... :)

I tried your project Musikbear (just to have the MIDI notes) and then I came up with this -> https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/399 ... gtone2.wav
