Hey there,

I am new to lmms and the tutorials I've seen haven't helped me out. I have the problem that when I'm using the heaven string instrument in the piano roll and make two long notes, a low one and one two octaves higher, the high one stops almost immediately but the low one continues for the full duration. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

What is the A4 key?

You may be interested in what’s called "Soundfont", that is a way to use samples as a normal instrument. To put it in very simplified terms, it’s a pack of many samples of a particular instrument, in different pitch (or even volume),

I realized about the a4 key just a couple minutes after. So I just google soundfont or MIDI and download one? Or is there one integrated in lmms?

"heaven string" is not an instrument, it is a Sample
Samples in LMMS can only be played correctly as they once was recorded, That means that a Sample only will play absolutely correct when the A4 key is down! No other key-press will play the sample as intended.
That does not mean that you cant find a keypress that could create an amazing sound, but the output will always have an altered length, just as you have noticed.
So you may ask, "what are samples then good for"?
They cant be rebuild in something like Audacity. Those programs can do a sc. Stretching and create a sample with the defined new pitch, but in same length as the original sample.
But you are not done yet..
After you have build the samples you need for a scale, you need a SamplER to play the SampleS. How that is done you can see in my video here:
