I have found some steps that you can try:
1. Connect the MPK Mini to your computer via USB and power it on.
2. Launch the Akai Pro Edit Software. This allows you to customize your MPK Mini.
3. Click on the "Program Edit" section. This will show you the list of preset programs on your MPK Mini.
4. Select the program preset you want to edit for LMMS compatibility.
5. Under MIDI Settings, change the MIDI Channel to match what LMMS expects. For example set it to Channel 1.
6. Set the Control Change numbers for the pads, knobs and faders to match up with LMMS as well. Refer to LMMS documentation for which CC values they use.
7. For the pads, you'll want to set them to trigger Note On/Off messages by setting Note Number buttons to different values.
8. Click Send to save and send your edited preset back to the MPK Mini.
Now when you load up that preset in your MPK Mini while in LMMS, the pads, knobs and faders should automatically map to control functions!
