Niklaus Wirth. In Memoriam.

Niklaus Wirth was one of the greats of computer science. His book Algorithms + Data Structures = Programs is one of my favorites. He was a pioneer of computer languages. He was also involved in hardware design. You can find some of his lectures and interviews on YouTube.

Thank you for sharing this information – along the sad news. It'd be great if we could always keep in mind that we don't just "use stuff" but be part of a culture... and approached all that we are involved (here: software, programs, "apps", music, and computers) as a culture...
