accidently deleted entire documents folder

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
within my lmms soundfont folder i had accidentally added a documents folder shortcut when deleting the shortcut it deleted my entire documents folder, i have checked my recycling bin and its not there.
What operating system are you using?

I on Linux could do a rollback (btrfs), but as far as I know windows does not have such a feature.
I am using windows, I have tested it and it appears any shortcut that Lmms deletes deletes the folder itself too.

No that is not so. I fear you have made symlinks, and they are coupled, but a real shortcut does not delete anything.
It is very unfortunate ofcause, the question is if you have a roll-back point you can use, but remember that will roll-back everything, not just your lmms-installation, so i has to be new.
It is quite odd that your files are not in bin, because that would mean that you have forced-deleted (SH+Del) that folder, and that will unfortunately be removed completely, but this event has really nothing to do with lmms.
I just right click and created short cut in windows idk what symlinks is, and all I did was right click delete within the lmms sound font select menu I checked on mine and a friends computer and it did the same thing instantly delete the folder and all contents despite only deleting the shortcut and also going straight to delete not even putting it in the recycle bin, And I don’t have any rollback points.

But there is no delete button in lmms sound font select menu:

if you right click on any file it will show a menu that allows you to delete a file.

Ah so thats what you did
And deleting a shortcut removed the actual folder..
If that is so it is bad. I need to make some tests
Thank you for your report.

EDIT
We have done all kind of experiments, and deleting any shortcut to any directory, folder ao file, does NOT delete the actual element, only the shortcut.
There is no such bug in LMMS.
If you have cloud backups like OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox, check there first. These services often keep a history of deleted files.
