The controller uses and needs WASAPI, because it has its own soundcard and audio interface. The controller wants to do all the audio/sound processing itself. Most programs like Chrome, Discord, Games, etc... Allow me to force them into WASAPI, thus bypassing windows, and directly send audio to the hardware(DDJ Controller) via Exclusive Mode (aka DMA mode).

That will be an issue.
ASIO is also not an option. ASIO can work in lmms, but will not be stable!
I gave up on ASIO after several BSOD and some nasty messages at bootups
I think you need to go around your advanced DJ-controller when you compose, and i recommend SDL and a set of external speakers.

I think this will need to be the way. I'll make sure to be extremely careful while using my headphones in LMMS, until I can get in some monitor speakers. I'd prefer to not implode my ear drums...LOL

Atm there is no plans for either. Sometimes in distant future lmms core will be rewritten. You can always contact devs at Discord, or you can write an Enhancement ticket on our gitHub. There are however +900 tickets ...
