[SOLVED] Halion Sonic in LMMS

I downloaded and installed Halion Sonic with steinberg, but I don't know how to/if it is possible to use it in LMMS. Is there a vst file somewhere I just haven't found yet, is there something else I'm missing, or is it just not possible?

Edit: I know I probably need to use VST3, I haven't been able to find the location of a VST3 file. Every resource I've found online is with a DAW that works very differently than LMMS, including some that appear to directly support Halion. The only file I've been able to find is the .exe file.

Edit Again: I found the VST3. For anyone else doing the same thing, located in

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Steinberg
Is a folder called HALion Sonic.vst3 (If you have everything installed)
Running a scan in Element (or whatever you use) once you are sure that folder exists should add it to the plugins list.

If there is no .dll file the VST is type VST3.
Atm LMMS need a 'middlelayer-host' for VST3
In Linux : Carla
in Windows : Element by Kushview

I really appreciate the helpful tips. Using Element worked perfectly for loading the VST3 file in LMMS. Hopefully, future versions of LMMS will have native VST3 support, but for now, the middle-layer solution is doing the trick!

you're on the right track with locating the Halion Sonic VST3 file! To use it in LMMS, make sure the VST path (C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Steinberg) is added in LMMS under Settings > Paths. After that, perform a plugin scan from the Add menu. Once it’s recognized, you should be able to load Halion Sonic into your project. If you encounter any issues, double-check the installation and permissions. Happy music-making! I decided to try Academized’s academized.com/buy-thesis-online Buy Thesis Online service, and it was a great decision. The writer provided an excellent thesis that was well-researched and well-written. I was able to meet my deadline without stress, and the quality of the work was exceptional. I’ll definitely recommend this service to others.
