Can't get to hear song editor and beat editor in same time

Hello, i'm fairly new to LMMS and need some help please

I've read the wiki about how to create a melody then a beat and as a beginner i tried to apply it to create a very basic musical cell : one melody with triple oscillator + 1 beat with beat / bassline editor. My problem is that i don't manage to get the both tracks being heard (melody and beat) in same time and I don't see what i'm doing wrong.
This is what i did more precisely, step by step
1) I create a basic melody in song editor with triple oscilator : it works, i hear the sound
2) I open beat/bassline editor and create a basic beat with it : it works, i hear the sound, but the melody recorded before is muted
3) i stop the beat and go back to song editor to start the melody again hoping the beat's playback will be heard in sync : but then i hear only the melody

I noticed that what i create with the beat editor doesn't appear in the corresponding track in the song editor, so i guess the problem is that i don't know how to "link" what i created with beat editor to the main song editor.
I attach a screencap, hoping it makes more sense

I'm not a total newbie with DAWs, i have a long experience with Audacity and Reaper so i wasn't completely lost when i tried LMMS, but it seems there is something fairly basic in the logic of the software that i don't get.

Thanks in advance if someone can point me in the right direction!

All playback is in song-editor.
When you create a beat-section in Beat-editor, that beat will be represented by an expandable blue beat-block in song-editor -Eg:

Obs the red arrow! it points from the named Beat made in Beat-editor into song-editor where the beat is represented by a beat-track of the same name. The beat will play in the duration of the blue bar.
So you need to locate the beat-track in song-editor and elongate the blue bar for the duration you want the beat to play. I always advise to both name the beat, and to allocate new mixer-channels for all instruments in beat-editor, it will help you in mixing.
As new to LMMS perhaps Rookie-Guide will be useful. Find the link in my signature.
