Windows vs Windows (msvc)
What is the difference and which would be most suitable for Windows 10 pro (64)?
Typical Nightly thing and also why Nightly is not recommended for production! Dont install Nightly unless you are bughunting and not composing !
Compared to the original Windows version (AKA the MinGW version), the MSVC version has LV2 support, per-note panning in Sf2Player, and support for MP3 and Opus samples, but no support for Gig Player yet (I'm sure it'll be missed).
The MSVC version isn't as well tested so there may be some undiscovered bugs, but I'd still recommend trying it if you want to experiment with the Nightly version on Windows.

Thanks... I must admit I really enjoy trying out the latest, even if it can be buggy. I just save lots. LV2 support is good because I like

and I also like how the track numbers show up more in the nightly versions.
The fact that it is free makes it so much more inspiring. I've actually been around here for a while but don't post that often - once in a while - so you probably forgot me! (I know most of the stuff in your Rookie Guide) I hope this software really catches fire so that more and more devs make it a true rival to FLStudio. That would be awesome. It seems to be going in that direction...
The main difference is the compiler used—Windows typically refers to the version built with MinGW (GCC), while Windows (msvc) is built using Microsoft Visual Studio’s compiler. If you’re running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit), the msvc version is generally recommended for better compatibility and performance, especially if you use other Microsoft tools or libraries.
