Hello,
I used soundfonts only for some part of the music. I mainly used Dexed, a vst which allows you to replicate the megadrive's sound chip. You could get it for free and look for SysEx files, the files played by this vst. You could retrieve 1000 files including the ones I used in my song here: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=277864. If you want to know exactly, I used Puyo Puyo and Thunder Force IV SysEx files.
The only soundfonts used are for the drums and the square sound in the back, which come respectively from Knuckles Chaotix and a file called STH instruments sf2 which regroups sound from the sonic megadrive games. But unfortunately I could not really find them on internet since the sites where I found them are now blocked on my side for security reasons, maybe you could find them by searching on your side, sorry for that.

I really like this a lot! I downloaded dexed a while ago but have only played around with it a little bit. I had no idea about the SysEx files, I'm gonna have to check that out.
I would totally be stoked if you made this into a bigger project, this track was awesome 😎!

Absolutely loving “Night Field”! The chiptune vibes instantly transported me into a retro game world, definitely feels inspired by Streets of Rage 3. The energy and melody are so clean and catchy. Amazing work, Adri1! Can’t wait to hear more from you—this track’s been on repeat already. Keep creating these awesome sounds, they really stand out! My professor is super picky with citation styles, and I always mess up. I tried domypaper.com just for formatting help. DoMyPaper nailed every detail, and my grade improved. Didn't expect to use a service for that, but now I know where to go.
