When I try to add an audio sample, regardless its length, I will always get the length of the sample as 0ms. The extension is already .ogg, and I used AFP to open the sample. How can I fix this? I'm also new to LMMS, I'm just learning how it works.

That is strange -Are you using Nightly?
Please let us know what LMMS version you have and from where.
Besides that, since you are new in Forum

I'm new to DAWs in general. I'm using LMMS 1.2.2 on macOS.

Im sorry -I know nothing about MAC, but i am not aware of a bug on MAC that would cause your problem.
Could you try and do this:
Open sidebar | My-samples
Browse to: Drums
In that folder find CB_Clap
Drag that into Song-editor
Take a screen-shot of the AudioFileProcessor (AFP) and post it here. How to post screen-shots is explained here: http://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4740
I will also talk with our MAC expert, and see if he know something about any bug.
I would also like you to watch a video around AFP function and settings. Just to rule out that you have configurated AFP in a wrong way:
