Current state of Wine with LMMS?

Going by the suggestions that were posted some time in 2024, I've been running Wine 8.02 (bookworm-1) on my Ubuntu Studio 24.04 with version lock in order to get working windows VSTs with Vestige in 1.3 alpha.

I wanted to ask whether it is still the case that all Wine after 8 does not work with Vestige? By now, Wine 8 is really holding me back. A lot of newer VST instruments seem to be working in later versions of Wine(Kontakt player ones, LABS, Plugin Alliance).

Has there been any development in that area?
Would switching to a nightly build help with that?
Or should I run everything through Carla?

Good questions!
I think the WINE issue is 'fixed' in á Nightly, but then there are other issues with Nightly that hamper zasfx at least in one of the build-types (cr witch).
You do use AppImage??
A lot of things are done every month. You can see what in the monthly report that is also linked here in News-section. I will see if i can find the dev that worked on WINE compatibility and then i will return.
