Irregular Time Signatures

I have a song that I'm working on and it requires one measure of 2/4 in an otherwise 4/4 song. I'm using LMMS 1.2.2. It's all percussion for people to sing over at a later time. I trimmed my beat clip to exactly 2 beats, but LMMS is still inserting extra space. Is there no way to make this work?

Timesignatures are artificial and a thing only in DAW. In a band the musicians would simply play faster or slower to achieve halftime or doubletime. That said you can achieve timesignature shifts in LMMS with automation.
There could be several reasons for your project playing additional beats. LMMS always flay the complete bar if any note is stretched into the next bar. Do check that it is not the reason.
But i suppose that you plan to export your beat to a soundfile (wave ogg mp3...), and i think the easiest solution is to export as loop.
Mark the whole beat inside the loop-markers, and in the export-dialogue select the option export as loop. LMMS will only export exactly what you have selected between the loopmarkers.
