House Piano?

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Um, I've been trying. Really really trying.

But I can't get a classic house piano preset. I want one like Umcaruje's "Slow Down", but can't seem to figure out how to make one.

Any help would be appreciated :)
Thanks, but not just any piano. A classic house piano.

I mean like this:

Ok, so the soundfont is Equinox Grand Pianos, and its my basic go-to soundfont.

The FX chain is fairly complex, here it is (ordered from left to right):

The sidechain was actually bypassed later on, when rendering to stems. It's there for sidechain only, and it does not affect the sound. Why didn't I put it on the end? I have no idea, I should've done that.

The sound was also post-processed in bitwig afterwards, after it was rendered as a stem.

Basically some stereo widening, transient control and more eq-ing. (sorry for the grayed out pic, I was too lazy to turn my audio engine on).

So for the 'house piano' sound you generally just want to have a heavily compressed piano sound, which has been EQ'd to sound very bright (see how I boosted a shitload of highs and mids). I actually limited the sound here (limiters are just highly specialized compressors) as I really like how limiters sound, just personal preferenece, and the fact that I have yet to become good at compression ;). I have to say that the piano in 'Slow Down' did not turn out as clean as I wanted it to, and that's probably because I went a bit too nuts with the effects.

Anyways, hope this was helpful.

Thanks a lot!

I just can't seem to find a download site for Equinox Grand Piano.

Yep.
It's always the House piano or Trance piano. 8-)
Which synth/plugin, were you trying to make the House Piano in Leche? :)
many different things.

I've tried making that bright, punchy house piano in a bunch of different plugins too, and it really is tricky getting it just right. What helped me most was layering a sampled grand piano with lots of EQ on the mids and highs, plus heavy compression like Umcaruje said. Sometimes I even throw on a chorus or a bit of stereo widening to get that big sound. Honestly, a lot of getting it perfect was just trial and error and listening to reference tracks.

I have tried making one which I use quite a bit which is based on a series of saw waves to add harmonic content and then filter and other effects. I started my idea with the triple oscillator then MPXVM added more effects in one of his projects and I am now using the effect stack he came up with but with my xpressive patch. I just uploaded it now at https://lmms.io/lsp/?action=show&file=24314 . You will need alpha or nightly build as it uses xpressive.

As mentioned, there was also a triple oscillator version which will work in older versions of LMMS. You should be able to find it in one of MPXVM's projects (I checked mine quickly and my presets folder and could not find it). However, either only sounds good at specific octaves - so I use it constructively with certain minor triads and m7 chords. Sampletext created an even more convincing piano which may be alright for house.
