MIDI-Controller support in LMMS

Hello!
I really enjoy producing music with LMMS.
Now I want to get a MIDI keyboard.
What’s holding me back is that I don’t know how well MIDI keyboards are supported in LMMS.
I’m thinking of buying either the Novation Launchkey Mini 37 MK4, the Akai Professional MPK Mini Plus, or the Arturia Keystep 37 mk2 — I’m most interested in the Keystep.
Has anyone here had experience with any of these MIDI keyboards and
Thanks in advance.

Arturia Keystep 37 mk2 does work with LMMS afaik both on Windows and Linux, but to avoid you having issues please do ensure the keyboard is plugged in and powered on before starting LMMS for it to be recognized correctly.

Usually, if a MIDI keyboard is "USB Class Compliant", then it will be recognized on Linux/Windows/MacOS, even if it's not officially supported. Look for "USB Class Compliant" on any PDF files about the device or on the packaging or within any advertisements or specifications publications.

If, on the other hand, it mentions having to install drivers, then it might not work at all, or some features might be missing.

Good luck.
