Help with recreating warm instrument

Questions about producing? Ask them here.

Hi all, I'm working on a cover of this song: https://youtu.be/WjHwbcKTMJE
I want to recreate the lead overdriven guitar (the instrument you hear at the beginning), I really love how it sounds but I run into issues.
I messed with the bitcrush and EQ and got similar results, but it seems to lack the "warmth". It sounds good but it's a little bit dull and doesn't have the exact sound I'm looking for.

I messed with plugins, tried pitch shifting, etc but I can't get it right, any help would be appreciated! :)

I am using LMMS 1.3.0 alpha appimage on Linux if it matters.

I would like to hear what you have now, that would make it easier to give advices. In general adding squarewave will give a softer/ warmer vibe, but upload what you now on youTube or similar, then we can give better help.

Unfortunately I can't use YouTube or Soundcloud to upload my songs mainly for privacy concerns and I don't have better alternatives :/

If it's fine, can I share the song via a file sharer?

You do not need to upload your song. We just need to hear that instrument. Record a minute of you playing freely on the instrument, make some random chords and play some singe notes too.

I finally got what I wanted by using the calf rotary speaker plugin, really softens the harsh bitcrush and EQ without destroying the original sound, though I had to do some tinkering with the settings to make it good.

Thanks for trying to help! I guess some things get solved on their own eventually xD

Nice. Good to see you got through.
