I was cruising the LMMS wiki and ran across vst stuff. I clicked on the vst link (upper right) and found some but limited data on using VST instruments, I went and installed wine, now what? Where do I put the downloaded vst files? How do I use them in LMMS?
Do I need to run wine, and LMMS at the same time to make it work?
I will try some things, until I get a response from this query (time permitting)

Well I managed to get vestige into LMMS and found a few VST instruments, now I see why LMMS doesn't install vestige by default. I tried to load an instrument, started the process of inserting the instrument, took a shower, shaved, came back it still wasn't loaded. Tried another one after several minutes is was still loading. So I guess I need an option, that actually works and loads quickley. For now I will forget the vestige approach.

now i cant know anything about your pc, ofcause, but one of the most popular VST's 'Synth1' loads in seconds, and is very good in lmms. If you cant use Synth1 without hickups or general griefs, then something is not right in your installation.
