sf2 player question

Somehow the sf2 player set itself to default to particular file.
I can change this file to others that are open, that is not in subfolders. I cannot however change this file to another if the file I want is in a different folder, at least not predicably. here is the layout my main sf2 folder contains several files and folders, the files that are in the main folder work great, however if I move to a folder inside the main sf2 folder open it and then open a sf2 file, it doesn't work and the default sound font is listed in the bar next to the open file icon within the sf2 player but does not play any ideas?
I this explanation is unclear, I can post a short sceen capture video.

i would gues that you have the 'non-english-charachter' isue.
I thought it was soluted (>0.4.12), but ..
If you have charachters in subfilder names OR filenames!! that are not in the english codepage, lmms will have difficulties in using files in that subfolder.
Is that the case?
Other wise all you have to do is type in the full path and filename in the :
Edit| settings| Paths|DEFAULT SOUNDFONT FILE
-whitch could look like:
C:/LMMS/data/presets/soundfonts/GeneralUser.sf2
