vst plugin and automation track

hi. anybody knows if there is any chance to control vst plugins with automation track? i am using a plugin called microtrance and what i would like to do is to gradually increase sustain and depth, but it seems i am not allowed to ctrl drag those controls knobs inside the plugin interface and drop them onto the automation track like the regular controls

-you cant, but you can add LADSPA plugins on the vst's FX tab, and those can be automated.

thanks for replaying. i actually tried to use ladspa in the mixer, which i think it is just the same if the track is bound to a single channel like appling the effect to the fx in the actual plugin, but i could not find the right effect. i will try a search for something suitable.
