No sound at all (Fedora with Xfce)

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hey lmms people! I'm a huge fan of lmms ... it is all I need... :)

Well I have a laptop with Fedora Xfce desktop. Somehow I succesfully installed Lmms. It runs very good on Xfce, although I had to install some Qt4 dependecies... The only problem is that sound is not working at all. I took a quick look a your forums but found nothing. I looked at the Edit->Settings and set audio and midi settings both to ALSA. I can normally open my old projects, but if I export one to wav it's just silence the whole song.

By the way I can play sound and video files normally with MPlayer or VLC. Even Audacity works normally. So the question is am I missing some packages or was the installation of lmms not really succesfull?

have you tried simple SDL for sound? If you have this option in your dropdown, that is what works for most -alternatively you can try to install an ASIO pack, but that has several crevats.. including a leagality one.. :/
Try SDL -report back
Thanks for the reply...

i have no SDL option...what is ASIO pack?
hmmm SDL simple-directMedia-Layer - but perhaps thats not an option in redHat.. oh dear.. Then its tricky, cause i seriously doubt ASIO can run then
ASIO

..but thats with no strings atached what so ever
confused

what can I do with this exe file..?
oohh you need to read all on that page regarding installation, licences and the what not,
and there is no guantee that it will work at all.
You properly also need a dll as layer-tier ..libportaudio-2.dll
the source for that is ..questionable
I still cant understand why you do not have the SDL option :/
You should perhaps try a re-install..
Or perhaps even better -try asking someone in a redHat community about what they use for audio default in their setup.
wheather or not the fedora/cfce matters.. i really dont know -but surely many must be running lmms on redHat
See if that can do the trick
[ -quite strange nooone have apeared here with specific information on this.. :/

I fixed it by removing and reinstalling Lmms again from the fedora channel...I don't know why but it was not there before...
