I'm sure all of this is very easy to solve by searching some keywords on the forums but this program and the ability to get excited about utilizing all of the audiofileprocessor/vst(s)?/effects and start adding samples leads to somewhat disappointing results.
1. lets say I want to take a youtube clip and take it "as is", maybe chop it up into shorter clips elsewhere (I believe I can do this in LMMS too, I just don't know where to begin and the forums and whatever digital copy of a manual available either online or with the product key and installation pack with the software (I am messing around on an equally uninformed friend's computer, so I do not have access to personal information associated with the key and copy of LMMS) would be simply too much of a headache for me to follow)
[SO MUCH INFORMATION THAT I DON"T KNOW WHERE TO START OR EVEN ARTICULATE WHAT I WANT TO SAY SO HOPEFULLY SOMEBODY THAT IS MORE ARTICULATE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AND COULD POSSIBLY EVEN READ MY MIND TO AN EXTENT WOULD BE ABLE TO POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION]
into just the key components I need to create a generic intro. I added in a youtube clip converted to a midi file. maybe it was the quality of the midi file that led to poor results.... maybe i was missing a feature of the program that I have yet to discover,,, but anyway I want to use a youtube clip "as-is" and incorporate it into a song with the best potential quality.
(subpoint to this)
for whatever reason I chose whatever generic synth soundfont available to you online when the objective is to simply "plug n play" and those set of samples get imported in directly (its either .wav or .midi), and the other one of the two (.wav or .midi) is used for the plugins. is there any way to import a midi or wav file and use it both "as-is" AND in the instrumental plugins?
2. In addition to this, I had some difficulties with using the synths provided with the instrumental plugins and would like to know how to record and save a loop using the preset I have already saved. also goes for drums, ESPECIALLY for the ZynAddSubFX (I am going to start by messing around adding loops over already produced and released songs... I started with Gucci Mane to learn the progression of pounding bass in the trap music genre... I would like to expand to other genres to learn the similarities without getting too corny...
[if you have a tutorial video of a "Remix" you've produced which includes a set of looped, recorded (what have you) preset loops.... preset samples?) that match the chord progression and scales associated with the song and sounds cool ((I PERSONALLY LIKE DUBSTEP, ELECTRONIC TRAP, GUCCI AND FLOCKA TO AN EXTENT MINUS THE ELECTRONIC REMIXES, DRUM N BASS, WHATEVER OPIUO AND TIPPER ARE)) or would be willing to create one to lead me in the right direction I would love you long time]
Ok, now a more complicated question, and feel free to completely disregard it unless you feel confident enough to explain your response to someone that is completely new to this: all the file extensions, all the plugins etc...
how would I theoretically isolate the vocals from a sample, different low, mid and high range tones, and maybe even instruments? Is this possible in LMMS?
Free resources for any files, plugins, samples, resources (4 dummies) would be greatly appreciated!
No manuals, specific links to forums that address several of these issues would be VERY rad
Thanks
