midi controller mapping

I am new to lmms and I'm having problems getting things set up! I need to know if there is an automatic midi controller keymapping capability in lmms, ie how do I use the knobs and sliders on my M Audio Oxygen 49 controller to control vst's etc. If not can anyone help me with manually mapping the controller please?
If the answer is already in the forum I apologise but I cant find it so I'm apologising in advance
