After a long time without having a PC or a laptop.
Last Sunday, I got literally fed up of not making any music in LMMS for nearly close to 2 years and I decided to install
Lmms portable 1.1.3 on my relatives PC.
Which is an old Dell PC, running Win XP.
And less than 1 GB RAM limit.
So that means no multiple zynAddSubFX's for me.
Glad to be back using Lmms (even if it is the portable version) and working on some new music tracks.
It's been a while since I used LMMS, so I'm (almost a newbie) and almost back to square one.
But good thing the powers of LMMS is still in me, and I was back to making my own special custom sounds, and making music tracks in no time.
I must say, that the sound quality has gotten alot alot better too.
Especially on the Triple Oscillator, and other Lmms internal plugins.
I also discovered alot of new LMMS plugins, that I haven't ever seen or used before.
Like Monstro, opulenz, SFXR,Watsyn and Nescaline.
And they all look cool!
The new ones are great. I'm still learning them as the days pass.
I was just trying out SFXR this Divali evening, just a while ago.
Wow! This SFXR is alot of fun!
I made all sorts of unusual sounds with it.
And it seems as if it was intentionally made for me. Since it has a Star on it. Lol!
Then it froze LMMS, when I rose the attack dial and tried to play a note. O.O
Ha! Ha! But I will check it out again as soon as I finish surfing the web.
I'm curious to see, how I'll use sounds made in the SFXR and other Vst sound effects, in a Trance music/other music track.
When I made a repeating vibrating cyclone type sound effect, all of a sudden I got ideas.
"It was like if a huge part of me had returned, after being away for so long."
I'll have to try and figure out how, to put these effects, into good use in a Trance sound track.
I am up for the challenge.
Nescaline is also fun to use. It feels very Nintendoish.
I am looking for some vid tuts, on the Monstro, Opulenz, and Watsyn and other new plugins.
I remember Diiz put a link to some tuts, but I can't seem to find that post.
After being away from LMMS for so long, I am glad to be back, using it again.
