poluted lmms file ?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
When I open my project, there still seems to be some vst leftovers. Easy Q.

I removed the plugin from my song but still see it when I load the song.

I am on Linux, does anybody have a solution how I can remove it ?

Edit:
I already tried to open the file with a few txt editors, but that failed. ( it does open but its garbage)
This might be a stretch. I don't know if this will work, but since you removed the plugin, try to save the project, or a copy of your project.
Then restart Lmms and reopen the project.

I had that same problem years back, and this is what I did to solve it, in Win 7 64 bit.
Hopefully it works.
I used the safe as new option. So I cant remove the plugin anymore from lmms, but its still there.
One solution would be start a new song, and do a lot of copy paste from one piano roll editor to the other in the new song.

I do suspect wine causing this issue. ( wine is what linus uses to load .dll files)

I am hoping I can use a text editor.
If you save the project as a .mmp (not .mmpz) file then you can read/change it with any XML editor (if there are any Linux ones). But you have to be careful, it's easy to mess it up.

Steve
what Steve says, you do need a code-editor. you cant use 'Word' or similar.
(You can upload, and i will (try to) fix it for you :)
Thank you guys. The first thing I did, before I tried anything was make another copy. ( because the file opens fine )

@ musicbear its already uploaded, I have been ignoring this issue for a while now because it still opens just fine.
Me asking for feedback, and brandystarbrite saying he saw a lot of easy Q errors, he should only see one, reminded me of this minor issue.

Now I will go on the hunt of a code editor. Its the kind of thing I first like to try myself.
It brings back memories, were I used a hex or code editor to change .dll files. (making custom campaign for a game, Alien vs Predator2)

If you want to look at the file its this one:
https://lmms.io/lsp/?action=show&file=7627
For others on Linux. After saving as mmp, Kate opens the file just fine.

This is not so easy as I hoped lol

Is this the part I want to delete ? I see this three times and the first two prob need deleting.

Code: Select all

<vsteffectcontrols program="0" guivisible="0" plugin="EasyQ.dll" chunk="VkMyIRoBAAA8RXF1YWxpemVyIFBhdGNoRm9ybWF0PSIyIj48QmFuZCBNb2RlPSJQZWFrL0RpcCIgRnJlcXVlbmN5PSI0OS4zNTk4ODIxIiBHYWluPSI5LjQ1NDU0NTQ1IiBCYW5kd2lkdGg9IjQiLz48QmFuZCBNb2RlPSJQZWFrL0RpcCIgRnJlcXVlbmN5PSIxOTU0NS44ODY0IiBHYWluPSIxNS41MTUxNTE1IiBCYW5kd2lkdGg9IjMuNTM1NzE0MjkiLz48QmFuZCBNb2RlPSJQZWFrL0RpcCIgRnJlcXVlbmN5PSI1MDc5Ljk5Njc5IiBHYWluPSIxLjkzOTM5Mzk0IiBCYW5kd2lkdGg9IjQiLz48L0VxdWFsaXplcj4AAA=="/>
            <key>
              <attribute value="EasyQ.dll" name="file"/>
            </key>
          </effect>
Or should I just change guivisibility to 1 ( so I can delete it then in lmms ?)

I wonder if I need to delete this line too ?

Code: Select all

<effect autoquit_numerator="4" autoquit_denominator="4" syncmode="0" autoquit="1" gate="0" name="vsteffect" wet="1" on="1">
This line is above the previous part I posted.
il look on it
(small headsup: Brandy is 'she' :p
