Yes it was. The word edm did not exist as far as I know lol.
Of course not everybody liked this music.
This series ended with volume 25 in 1993.

Named after this record. (boy I am getting old lol)

ya +uhoh - in my world 'house' is progressive! Eg the kind of house that is close to trance and edm. Old school 'warehouse-music' is really soul/disco, and not member of 'my playlist' :p -And it is in progressive-house you find the pump pads and drive in the track -Sorry for the confusion
Ah yes, the more modern type of house.

I was surprised when I watched that documentary, that it was disco / soul / funk based, but this does explain why I like it.
I also like hip hop, which is most of the time based on soul / funk samples too.

A girlfriend ones bought me a James Brown tape. Most of those songs I heard for the first time back then, but I did recognize about about James Brown track from at least one sample in hip hop.

Maybe a fun example of house with a disco sample. I had never heard this, it was that Australian friend, that pointed me to this.
He is a walking jukebox,

Avant Garde - Get Down

The sample is from this:
Ottawan - D.I.S.C.O
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxcbFFRYKS8
The start and end is of course from mission impossible.
On the sample they used a lowpass? filter.

Its also a nice example, of why I often refer to this type of music as boom clap music. :P boom clap, boom clap, boom clap.
ahh ya, 'Get down' that is solid funk. I btw believe i saw a doc about that song. The band has been rejected at a club, and the went back to the hotel and wrote a 'angry' song.. actually not 'Get down', but 'F*** Y**' :) -That was the track that made them millions and a place in funk-history :p
hahahaha, it proofs music needs emotion.
I think I did it.

Changed the title to OurHouseMusic. You will understand why, when you listen to it. :P

Added two samples, added a third part and a break, which are both a slight variation. Then the 4th part is the same as the second part.
Changed the percussion, I hope it's now has a more classic house beat.
I think I am done, but still as always, feedback much appreciated.

Especially on the sample, our house music, the part were it is repeated 4 or 5 times.
I did not do anything special, but have been moving that sample back and forth in the piano roll, to get t at least a bit in sync.

I find that quite interesting. A very different way to do it. Nice Gps.
Found a site which masters your track.
You can use it for free, then you get an mp3 back (192kbps)

Gave it a try and noticed how their mastered version has more bass, and I suspect it cuts a certain frequency.
Gave easyQ another try, and used a preset that cuts a frequency. This separates the basses more from the rest of the music.
Then added points to control the graph. Progress :)

So much to learn, but making progress. This time on how to use easy Q ( although this applies also to the eq plugin already in LMMS, but that one does not show a graph. You will just have to use you're ears.

What does help me, is turning off easyQ now and then to compare, if my mixing does improve the sound.

Not to sure about that auto mastering, it also boosts the volume, and I saw a guy analyzing it, it also brought clipping........
Still it helped me, as an example.
good track. I like the use of the effect voices, they not only sound good, but used all the right places, and also not over used -nice.
Bouncy and catchy piano chords, and everything is in key!
Nicely done.
I believe this is the right site.

Nice Gps :)
