LMMS won't close (Windows 7)

When I tried to run LMMS, it stopped responding, and it didn't close so I used Task Manager and it still won't close. Any help?

that is quite quaint, and not a lmms issue, but a windows one
When something like that happens i usually throws some darts at a Gates-formed target, i do that while my pc reboot :p
Doubt you will see that again, but what ran simultaneous with lmms, some have had problems with icq msn and skype, was that also the case here?

I've certainly seen LMMS take a VERY long time to close, usually when I've been trying a new VST which doesn't play nicely with it. You get "not responding" and then even trying Task Manager / End Task it can still take a couple of minutes to close down.

As musikbear suggests, if you don't want to wait a reboot will get rid of it. It probably doesn't save any time overall but it's maybe a bit less frustrating because at least you expect a reboot to take ages .

Should clarify this better.
LMMS GUI closes just fine (as in normal) but the task manager still shows lmms.exe as running using ~36Mb of memory.

Then I open up LMMS again and it works normally and uses ~39Mb of memory (note these instances only has the default proj open).
Closing LMMS again as normal leads to a lmms.exe instance still running in task manager using ~36Mb of memory.
The first 'ghost' instance now drops to ~34.5Mb.

This can be repeated several times and the amount of lmms.exe processes goes up. Stopped at 6. All of them using ~34.5 to 36.2Mb of memory.
These processes can NOT be stopped (ended) from the task manager.

Using:
Win7-64 Home Premium.

I believe one of the pre-releases had something like this, but stable release not?
Is that stable 1.1.3 ?

1.1.3 downloaded from the site just after the VST bug was fixed back in March.
Is there a new version out?

Checking the properties of the process from the task manager it says 'File version : 1.0.93.0'

I had a similar problem to this 3 years ago.
With LMMS 0.4.13 64 bit.
On my laptop running WIn 7 64 bit Home Premium.

In my case, it turned out to be certain buggy Vst's, that would make lots of instances of itself, in the task manager, along with 5 or 6 instances of LMMS.
And anytime you close them, they would sometimes just keep coming back, like a virus. O.O

What I discovered, is that Rebooting your Laptop/PC, or shutting Win 7 down and restarting it, normally fixes this problem.
Musikbear and Slipstick are right on this.

I myself suspect, that it could partly be a Windows problem.
Or, it could fully be a Windows problem, all by itself.

Sure, rebooting usually works but..... most other programs do not require a reboot after being shut down.
