VST plugins won't play

I can use VST plugins that I downloaded, and they function just fine when I use them. However, whenever I try to load a song the next day later, some of the VST plugins I used don't play any of the notes I assigned. They stay mute until I clone them, and usually then they just cause my computer to slow down, and I always receive the message that LMMS isn't responding. I have to close down LMMS afterwards, and the process starts all over again. Can I get a little help? This get's frustrating after a while, and I can never edit my songs because of it.

Yes, that must be frustrating, and it definitely should not be like that

* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most imortant)
* lmms sound device chosen
* if any -screenshots of error
* if relevant, demo mmp
* names and best download links of the failing vst's

Okay, so I'm using a Windows 8.1 64 bit operating system with 4.00 GB of RAM and a 2.60 GHz i3-3130M CPU processor. The soundcard is Realtek High Definition Audio, and the LMMS version is 1.0.3.

The only VST plugin I had trouble with so far, from what I've experienced, was DSK_Virtuoso. Like I explained before, I can use it just fine, however it's whenever I try to reload the song again is when most of them seem to mute themselves. Then afterwards, the only way to get them to play is to clone them, and that usually just slows and crashes the program. Sorry; can you explain what you mean by LMMS sound device?

I had the same problem with this VST in the past. I have given up on finding a solution.

ok.. so it is this one VST, if i understood you correctly?

Unfortunately some vsts are 'weird' and wont work

are tested, and works on lmms -But there are many more that does work.
I strongly recommend Synth1 and the somewhat complicated oatmeal


..perhaps it would be an idea to have a list over those that does not work

At first it was just DSK Virtuoso that didn't work. Now another has stopped working; DSK Synthopia. I'm not sure what's triggering this issue, at first I thought it was just the plugins themselves or maybe the website I was getting them from, but I have other songs that use these plugins and work just fine, even upon reloading.

And that is your best clue.
In a computer things does not 'stop working' randomly, so if the plugin does work in some projects, but not in one specific, then that specific project has a fault. Finding that can be difficult, but make sure
* no volume dial has accidentally been turned off
* disable the FX-chain
* are there any global automation? Remove it
