Using long samples in LMMS

I imported a whole song as a sample track in order to remix the song on LMMS. However, when I try to skip to the middle of the sample, I can't hear anything. The only way I can listen to the sample is starting all the way at the beginning, which is pretty annoying because I don't want to wait 2 minutes every time I want to get to the spot I want to edit. Is there anyway around this?

So I guess you're saying I should start up Audacity, open my Audacity project and cut it up into segments to create multiple wav files. It sounds pretty tedious :x

Is there a way you can do that in LMMS?

and you still would have a lot of t&e getting these clips fitting seamlessly

well -kind of, but its not trivial :/ -and the problem with only playing from note start persist..
But, if you use audiofileprocessor as your preset, you can fiddle with START / END to go to a specific posistion in the clip. You cant however magnify the clip, and only way to readout posistions is through a rightclick on the knobs
