Lmms closes on save (Ubuntu)

Hello, I recently installed lmms on my laptop running 11.10 ubuntu. The program runs fine but when I save a track the program closes without saving. Im unsure if this is because its not supported on 11.10 or ? Any ideas to fix this or anyone else having a similar problem ?
