LMMS Sound

So, I have gotten LMMS recently. I'm obviously not an expert on it, and i;ve looked around.
It seems like whenever i create a new project, the sound is wierd. Everything is slow. Even though it says it is on tempo 140, when i play the few notes i put in to test, it comes out really slowly. The M() S() thing is also moving at the same speed, as if the program is running very slowly
