Plugins won't load on Windows 7(64 bit)

Recently I've downloaded some new VST plugins that I'm eager to try, but when I try to load the pluginsin vestige, the message comes up saying 'Unable to load <plugin name> for some reason'. I've tried this with all of my plugins, and none of them can be loaded. I've upgraded my software, and I've emptied out my VST directory to see if reducing memory in the directory would do it, I've re-pathed my directories, and nothing is working. I'm wondering if an operating system upgrade may have done it. It worked while I had windows vista, and now I have Windows 7. How do I get this resolved?

Is it JUST the new VSTs that don't load or are you saying old ones that used to work on vista have stopped working since you moved to Windows 7 ?

Perhaps give a few examples (links would be good) of exactly which VSTs won't load. Also what version LMMS do you have ?

There are some VSTs that simply won't work with LMMS but hundreds that do work (for most of us) so details help. Can you try loading something like Synth1 (http://www.kvraudio.com/product/synth1-by-ichiro-toda) which always seems to work well ?

Otherwise slipstick got it 100% :)
One thing though. It important that you install Synth1 the proper way! Synth1 wont work correctly, if you only copy the dll, so do it correctly.
