Piano Roll Trouble

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm having some problems with the piano roll; when trying to create a melody pattern (through the piano roll, not through the step editor) the program only seems to read it as an individual step that contains a pattern when I go back to the main song editor window, rather than showing the regular blue graphic (ie Image).

Hopefully this will clear things up a bit; piano001.ogg is supposed to be a piano pattern, but the song editor shows a green step, which is a problem as it's harder to time the whole pattern in the larger song.

There's a very good chance that I'm overlooking something obvious, or forgetting how to use the program wholesale because it's late, but on the offchance that this is a weird bug I'd rather figure it out here then frustrate myself further. For the meantime, I've been copying piano patterns from old projects and editing them as needed for newer projects, but it feels like I'm doing way too much work for such a simple operation. :P Thanks in advance!
I can get a similar strange effect but only with Song Editor at the extreme 1600% magnification level (which I've never used before). If I set it down to any lower value the piano roll behaves normally.

Welcome to the forum add-adhd.
If you need to get started up with lmms, these will be helpful

Steve points to the correct reason. You have chosen 1600x in magnification.
Then lmms let you use the piano-roll AS step-editor, or as we call it in lmms B&B-editor. So its not a bug, it is a feature :p
Just lover magnification, and you can insert notes quantisized, in ticks beats and bars.
Thank you so much!
