Trouble with plugins

Hey Im relatively new but this is a real problem i've been trying to work on for hours.
The lmms wiki says that there is a "soundfont2 player" plugin. However, after getting the (I assume) most recent version 1.1.3 I cannot find this and cannot import soundfonts. Was this in an old version or what's the deal? Am I a dumbass and cant just find it?

What OS are you using ?

In my (Windows) LMMS 1.1.3 there is a standard soundfont2 player. It's in the list of instrument plugins and it's called "Sf2 Player" exactly as the wiki says at https://lmms.io/documentation/Plugins

Are there any other instruments missing from your Instrument Plugins list ?

Hi Gregdawizard as new to lmms maybe these can be useful:

So my short fast 'solution' from facebook did not do it :p
I suspect you possibly are looking in a wrong selection.
You find all the LMMS Instruments in the sidebar:
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Side_Bar
It looks like this:

It is the top button you need to click.
Then you will see this:

Obs! That is a scrolling-list!
As you can see, it is the SF2-player you need
BUT!!!
That has to be collected from the net first
Any SF2 preset from the net will work, but we recommend GeneralUser
This is where you need to put the downloaded SF2-preset. Eg it need to be in the SF2 path!!

Here named DEFAULT SOUNDFONT FILE.
Now you should be able to import most midi-files. Unfortunately, some will hang. This will be fixed in next release.
Let me know if it worked.

ok a few things:
a) my lmms instrument plugins tab shows: audio file processor; BitInvader; FreeBoy; Kicker; LB302; Mallets; Monstro; Nescaline; OpulenZ; Organic; PatMan; SFXR; SID; Triple Oscillator; Vibed; Watsyn; and ZynAddSubFX (thats it)
b) i am using the mac version
c) I downloaded GeneralUser soundfont preset but cannot get it into lmms correctly (i just imported it)
-> idk if all this helps but i am very confused

thanks!

And to be fair it does say that in the release notes
"Apple....
MIDI controllers do not work on Apple (Please see bug #1153)
VST plugins (.dll) do not work on Apple (Please see bug #698)
SoundFonts (.sf2) do not work on Apple (Please see bug #649)"

Not at this point. Maybe there is an plugin, but if VSTs don't work there's no way to load it. Something entirely separate from LMMS could work, if you get MIDI routed out of LMMS into that other program. But then you wouldn't get audio back into LMMS, so you'd need to mix outside it as well...

Edit: Actually, it looks like MIDI support for OSX will be in the upcoming 1.2 version, and not available in the released version yet.

try https://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando/
You can also drop SF2, DLS and acidized WAV files directly on the interface, and they will automatically get converted to SFZ 2.0, which you can then edit and tweak to your liking!
