... Beating my head against the wall ...
In my head, I can do a swing beat. I can imagine it, feel it. But I'm having a hard time translating it into lmms. Trying to write some electro swing.
Any suggestions?

whilted notes are easy in lmms
Insert normal notes of the length you want
Raise magnification 4 or 800
Set Q to 64
Mark and move the notes one or two 1/64 left (pre) or right (post) whilt

So I'd have to do that under pianoroll, not the beat editor?

Beat Editor: no, there is no 'swing automation' to randomly move certain beats back and forth by 1/64. So, if you tweak a note in the beat editor, it will always be at that tweaked location, which isn't very swingy. Of course, you could duplicate the Master beat a couple of times and then slightly tweak notes by 1/64, and then alternate between the two tracks in the song editor.

Yes, but you can still do this in B&B in order to create a 'sizable' block. Just right-click a BB-block, and open in piano-roll.
Obs that selecting a green 'no-length-note' wont change its color, but you can do anything with them anyways.
