Hi guys

Something new. not sure about the genre,
Should this be two tracks ? :P

I am happy but do have some questions, about the sound balance.

Any other feedback, suggestion and or critics as always welcome.

I have no idea what genre of music this is.
It's in a category of it's own.

Out There?
Interesting name for a music track.
It kinda suits it too though.

Sounding good though.
I was about to say, that the drums should be a tad bit louder, but I know some musicians like less overpowering drums.
Which is sometimes nice on the ears. And depends on the musicians style too.

The synth sound from 48 secs is not too loud or overpowering.
Which is nice.
If you want, you could raise the volume of the synth melody a tiny tiney bit more. Not too much though.
Strangely, I find the synth melody's sound, a bit Halloweenish.

Wind sound?
Interesting.
Sounds nice though.
What made you decide, to use a gusty wind sound in this track?
It makes it sound like a Halloweenish soundtrack, for Bowsers castle stage. :)

if i could put this in "ambient", i would ... but i think brandystarbrite hit it with "bowsers castle".
:D

very interesting track. it kinda falls in with IDM a bit? maybe? very nice. sounds like something i'd lean back with a glass of wine and meditate to.

.... ok, i know. i'm strange.

:P
Thank you.

I wanted to add another sound, and at first only as a temp sound used that wind sound. Then while listening, I said to my self, hey this fits nice, then added reverb and a phaser.
A happy little accident like bob ross calls it.

I could add more volume automation to the zynth sound, to have some of the less loud parts a bit louder.
That track was a challenge already, at first some parts were way too loud, compared to other parts, because of the use of single notes chords and tracks with not a real chord but two notes played together.

To me it has edm, but also some deep purple influence

With the awesome john lord, on the organ. rip.
About every version of child in time is different, because john Lord did not like to play the same thing twice.

I have been considering adding a distorted guitar sound.
Interesting feedback from an online friend. She does not like the cymbal ( hit-hat) I used. It does not fit with the other drum sounds.
I think she has a point, and the way she tried to explain it, a jazz hi hat, vs a hard rock hi hat.

I changed that (saved project with a different name, so I still have the original)

She also want me to delete the cowbell. Not sure I want to do that. :P
Very interesting Bass and percussion.

Not sure what genre you we're going for though.
Ah now you're getting into my world. Like a lot of the stuff I play with I have no idea what genre to call it but I like it. It's probably somewhere in the chill/ambient area with some excellent sounds in there.

It could perhaps do with a little more definite structure because it's difficult to tell where it's intending to go most of the time. But as an exercise in getting decent sounds and good melodic ideas...plus of course staying in tune...it's excellent. You're definitely getting the hang of this music thing ;).

Steve
Thank you, and I agree on the structure part. It sound so easy but I find it damn hard to get structure.

I am very happy about being in tune. Today was working on something and just by ear moved some notes. When I checked with mark current scale tool, I had moved them from a not colored line to a blue line. :)

Original it was mend to be house, but as you can hear it ended up totally not house.

You could say I am too creative :P

Currently working on a trance track, and trying to stick to some rules.
Using a techno drum pastern from this site:

https://www.attackmagazine.com/techniqu ... ng-techno/

And using a chord progression of 8 bars of each note, which seems to be most common in trance.

According to some internet sites, techno and trance have the same drum patterns, but trance is more melodic.
I am not happy about the hi hats, but will leave that for now. I will get to that after I have most or all of the melody in.
