Multiple instances of the beats/bassline editor

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Why, if I create an instance and load some samples or a VST or whatever, do all subsequent instances I create contain the same things? And if I delete the instrument or sample from a subsequent instance, why does it remove that thing from the first instance? I would like each instance of beats/bassline to contain only what I want in it, just so I can keep track easier. Am I doing something wrong?
Oh, and one other thing: one of the blocks in the song editor acts like it's not long enough, like it's short by a 16th note. In the piano roll it looks to be the same length as the others, is there a timing issue in Windows?
I noticed that too with BBE...I think it's just being helpful because most people will use multiple instances of BBE to create different beat patterns but using the same "drumkit". Same as in the real world, you don't take the floor tom away because you're not going to hit it for a few bars ;).

But it can get a bit confusing if you have lots of instruments/samples in there. It would be useful if there was some way of organising it to remove from view or "black out" instruments you're not using in a particular instance.

No idea about your song editor blocks. I've never seen/heard anything like that.

True!

Does sound 'strange'
Try this:
Open the block in piano-roll
Magnyfy to 800%
Image
Scroll to the last note
Does that note look strange?
If it is a note with a default length, like 1/8, delete it, and set the note-selector

to 1/8, and re-insert it
If that does not fix the problem, i would need to see the file:)
Thanks everyone for the responses! I guess I won't be able to have fresh, uncluttered instances of the Beats editor, and I can live with that, I just worry that if I make a change in the beat of instance 3, for example, then instances 2, 1 and zero will also change as if I had edited them, too. That would limit me to one beat for the entire song, which seems to defeat the purpose. I must be misunderstanding, so please someone help me out.
The beats, i.e. notes played, can be completely different in every BBE instance. It's just that each instance will contain the same full set of instruments/samples (whether they play anything or not in that instance). Editing the beats/notes in BBE1 will not change the beats in BBE0 but editing the sound of the instrument (e.g.adding reverb) will change it in all instances.

Just have a look at a few of the Demo projects that come with LMMS to see how it works. "Ashore" is an example with loads of different BBE instances all with different beats and "DnB" is even more complicated.

if you need different drums kits - use sf2 drum kits and paino roll

You can read all about different strategies for B&B here:
