So Watsyn have 4 оscillators and TripleOscillator have 3 оscillators

but each instrument provide same functionality?

should i use both of them or only one?

Watsyn has custom waveshapes plus a lot more versatile modulation between the oscillators for a wider range of possible sounds. But it takes a lot of learning/experimenting to understand how it all works.

If you can get all the sounds you want with TripleOsc I'd stick with that for now. It's a lot easier to learn and there are more tutorials and presets available so you can see how other people have designed their sounds.

(All just my opinion, of course)

You said it!

Nope -I share them

Jokes aside
Watsyn simply can -more-
Much more. But just as zasfx can more yet, 'More' most often comes hand in hand with more complexity
The largest difference is the modulation matrix
Watzyn gives you opportunity to modulate with both waveshapes and std-functions, and not just one modulation. Modulation can be ..modulated. So where 3oc will deliver pretty much 'of the shelf' synth outputs -and good ones!, watzyn can make very sophisticated sounds.. buuut is then overtaken in lightspeed by zasfx
(imo :)

Indeed, I'd say if you really want to learn a complex synthesizer then ZynAddSubFX is more worth spending time on than Watsyn. It's incredibly versatile in all sorts of ways. And there are thousands of presets and plenty of good tutorials for it. That and TripleOsc are all I bother with apart from a couple of old favourite VSTs.

When I first started with LMMS I found it way too easy to keep on downloading more and more new VSTs and then spend days fiddling with them. Now instead I try to learn just a couple of synths fairly well and spend the time making music instead.

You got a lot of good answers from musikbear and Slipstick.
They are both right.

Was just checking out that Watsyn plugin again.
Pretty cool! 8-)

And to add onto what they just said:
Both plugins can do the same thing, and that is, make all sorts of really cool sounds.
But,.....some big difference between both plugins, is that,.....

Watsyn, you can even draw your own Waveshape in Watsyn, which is a feature, that the
Bit Invader plugin in Lmms has. Triple oscillator can't do that though.
Watsyn, has a good bit more features and could obviously do alot more.

Triple Oscillator I more consider, as a basic to advanced straight to the point type synth.
You can't draw your own Wave shape in Triple Oscillator though.
But by tweaking the knobs, you could make all sorts of cool sounds from it.

Check out Lmmsdudes Triple Oscillator tuts, for good references.
Trance Bass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IUOL05O8so my fav. 8-)

Both Triple Oscillator and Watsyn are very good plugins. So use them hand in hand if you want.

Gonna test out this Watsyn plugin again and see what I could come up with.
It took me a while to figure out certain things.
Also, Watsyn kinda reminds me a bit of ZynAddSubFX, which is super powerful Saiyan synth. 8-)

@musikbear and Slipstick, I must say, both of you mad some pretty good valid points on both of those synth plugins.
When you all, kinda brought up Watsyn and zynAddSubFX, I had to check out and play around with the Watsyn plugin again. Lol!
In a way, after checking it out again, I would say, that Watsyn kinda reminds me of zynAddSubFX.
And is like a baby brother version, to super big brother zynAddSubFX. Which is cool for my PC. Lol! :P

Whoever came up with the idea for that Watsyn plugin, really did a good job.
Good idea.
