I've started a playlist called mashup. What I do is I select a genre, and create as many different variations as possible.

Part 1 - Chiptune

(I also take suggestions for genres :))

The chiptune one sounds really good! Maybe you could've varied it up a bit, like going from Gameboy style to NES style to Commodore style.

Suggestion for next one: orchestral! LMMS has a SF2 player for a reason :)

This chiptuney one sounds really cool. :)
Short and sweet. :D
I like the synth sound used for the melody, it kinda sounds gameboy Zelda ish too.
I think that's why I like it so much.

I saw that Chill Frog, on soundcloud mentioned Glitch hop?
What in the world is that? Lol!
I think, I'm gonna research this genre. 8-)

I'm not a follower of the genre, but the Jitterbug EP by Stepcat is fantastic swing/glitch hop, and Rameses B makes some fun tunes as well (check out his Star Wars remix).

haha yeah glitch hop is insane, Brandy.

First off, glitchhop is a sub genre of glitch and glitchhouse.
Except, glitchhop runs commonly at 110BPM and requires "funky" hip hop beats, sweep cuts, mashing, chopping and bit crushing the melodies etc etc.
Example of glitchhop:

Personally I am also seriously in love with this genre because the more and more you listen to this genre, the wackier but more damn awesome it gets B)
Like Electro Swing :)

To be honest, my first (classified) EDM song was in the genre of glitch hop. It is quite difficult. Chill Frog, why do you want me to suffer?

lol. But I'll get to work on it after I release the Second mashup, "Orchestral".

Hey there I love Glitch Hop and i want add my two cents :)

Originally Glitch Hop used to be a bass driven, Hip Hop-based beat with a tons of glitches.
Glitches are the quintessence of any Glitch Hop track.
A glitch is a error of a signal or function. Artists use effects "wrong" on purpose and try
mixing distorted sounds, disonant tones, weird noises, dirty sequences etc. into a interesting track.

Here some "old-school" Glitch Hop stuff:

Kraddy - Android Porn
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr3XJr4FCYk

Pretty Lights - Sunday School
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xyaw__64gU8

edIT - If You Crump Stand Up
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAn4lQyTJfI

My Glitch In The Club (Cryptex Reglitch)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YJOuwpz_lc

A quick fun fact:
Kraddy, edIT, boreta, Ooah who are talented Glitch Hop artists back in the days founded a band together The Glitch Mob. Ironically they focus more on producing on "adventure electro track" than on Glitch Hop.
It is as if Metallica and Iron Maide (two metal bands) worktogether as The Metal Mob and start producing pop songs in style of Rebecca Black (definetly not metal).

Somehow Glitch Hop got popular and many artists jump on this hype train even though their track has nothing with the original Glitch Hop. Many labels support this bad practice and many uninformed people demand more of the "new" style than the "old" style.

So over years Glitch Hop has become more into a genre with clean sounds, funky beats and hopping melodies.

TL;DR
Hip Hop + Glitch = Glitch Hop
...mainstream media abuse this term...
now it is Glitch Hop

haha I listened to one or two from Caravan Palace but I'm more of a serious fan with Parov Stelar B)

OH BRO I LOVE THE GLITCH MOB! I have like 30 of their songs XD
I especially like Android Porn, although, I wouldn't classify it as GlitchHop cause there is no chopping and mixing up order of the melody. I would put it more in the line of Drumstep :)
