Understanding the Tap Equaliser

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Hi. I understand the Tap Equaliser a bit, but I want to understand it "fully."
And how it works, and how to use it properly, when making "plucks" etc. :ugeek:

Why does it have 8 Band Gains and 8 Band Freq in Tap Equaliser?
Does the 8 Band gains and Freq. have to do with the number of Octaves on the Piano roll?

I also notice some of the other Equalisers have more, eg. 10 bands instead of 8 etc.
The gains are as in the other eq's You have the low freq to the high.
The Freq is about where the resonance is centered. You get a more 'crips' expression on high values - kind of aplying a HP filter, but not the same.
The RES CF knob on zasfx does hovever the same (if enabled).
The eq as such is 'decent', but i feel it skews the pure values.
C* eq 10bands is more 'trustworthy', and have finer grained seperation (10 not 8) -but none of these can in any way be compared to the pure sound quality you get in graphical eqs.
-But, Currently (at least) i have issues with reopening projects with VSTs based effects.
Use C* eq 10bands -for now
Wow! I learned alot here. Thanks musikbear. :)
Anymore info, anyone?
Glad I found this old post I made.
I must say that Lmmsdudes Trance bass tutorial, really showed the potential of the Tap Equalizer.

I'm re-checking the good ol' potential of the C* eq 10 bands again.
I'm gonna take my time with it again, and see how it goes.
