Slow Playback

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello,

I recently installed LMMS, and have been learning to use it. However, I have a problem. When I press "play" in LMMS to play back the song I'm creating, it plays back several times slower than it should. So slow that the song is unrecognisable. But when I export the song as a .wav or whatever, that exported file plays perfectly. Is this just some setting that is off, or is it something having to do with my computer? (I don't think the tempo is the problem, and it's not my CPU either.)

Thanks in advance,
~ Messmerd
Does it happen on every project, no matter how small?

What version of LMMS, what OS?
I'm not sure if the project size affects it...I'll have to check on that. I'm using version 0.4.13 on Vista.
Try updating to newest version.

wooo.. this is close to take the 'weirdness of the year' award.. :/
what is the usage percentage of your cpu whern you playback in lmms?
can you list your hardware?
..it wont help you im afraid, but im curious
LMMS is using up between 10 and 15 % of the CPU during the entire playback.
I'm using Vista Home Premium with SP2. 3 Gb of RAM.

The only sound device I have is Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221. I have had problems with sound before. For example, I can't record sounds coming through my speakers with Audacity because of something with my sound device, so I need to use another computer to do that. I don't have much knowledge of sound cards and other computer hardware. :/

I heard somewhere that the newest version of LMMS has some features missing or something like that, and they recommended downloading the version I have now (v 0.4.13), so that's what I did. If I'm not mistaken, I think I tried using the newest version first, but the program would not open and it showed an error message.
Try changing the audio backend to SDL. See if it helps.
Thanks, diiz! It works now. :D
