Hey, I'm going to make a new, dubstep/EDM track soon, but in order to make the drop, I'll have to engineer
a "punch" effect for the first note of the drop. How can I do this?

I'm not sure what you mean by "punch", but I think you mean a quick delay on the volume envelope to rapidly decrease the volume of the bass sound, giving it an accent at the beginning.

Do you mean
punch drums mrlmmsguy?
Or a cartoony/movie style, punch sound effect?
Could you post a example of the sound, you're trying to create.
