When I click the yellow button how do i get it to do the thing in green and not the thing in red.
Please Help!

If I understand youre question right, just mute the bbe trank (s) you dont wanna hear.

I tried to make this as easy to understand as possible with the picture and all... I want to record midi inputs while listening to the entire song and not just the drum and bassline track. I want to listen to my entire 3 minute song while recording new things not just one of the bb tracks. look at the picture man.. I want to do the thing in green not the thing in red... If the image is to small for you, right click it and open it in a new tab to view the full size.

The only way you didn't understand my question is if you dident read it and look at the picture. Look at the picture up there i posted... see it? When i click the thing highlighted by a yellow square, how do i make it do the thing in the green circle and not the red circle. "While playing song or bb track" I want to record while playing ENTIRE song NOT JUST THE BB TRACK!

With an attitude like that I expect it will work best if you just shout at it until you get what you want.

OTOH what I think you've failed to understand is that it will only play all tracks in the song when you're recording a track in the Song Editor. And you haven't got any tracks in the Song Editor, just BB tracks.

If you record a track in BB Editor it will only play the BB that you're working in. That's how it's supposed to work. The BB Editor is intended for creating short (1 or 2 bar) repeating loops not the whole song.

You have TWO 'record' buttons in lmms

The one you marked with a yellow square, is for simultaneous song-edior playback AND adding new piano-roll notes, so you also control general transport!
The other one to the left is for 'recording' notes only in piano-roll.

Here you can see how you can make a setup, where all in song-editor is in the playback, and you can play notes, and record them simultaneously

Its not brand new, but i think you should be able to understand.
