Dude.. Maybe he got it from a sample pack, or he worked 10 hours or more ...days even -with a real hardware-synth.
Complex sound-synthesis is not just 'HOW' is is serious work, a real science, and often -very often :) pure chance too. That specific sound cant be recreated.

Hmm. If it's the interesting growl like sound, you're speaking about.
It's possible that he recorded a voice, making a crazy sound.
Manipulated it with a voice/sound manipulation vocoder type plugin software and mixed it in with
a low bassy sounding synth sound.
It's also possible that he played it back wards and distorted and manipulated it as well.

There are lots of possibilities here.

And believe it or not, it could be that he was pressing a few keys on a sample or synth sound,
and somehow, accidently stumbled upon it.

Kinda like me last week.
I accidently made a Lion growl from a snare sound.
Even I wasn't expecting to discover that. Lol!

Which makes me wonder, of the tons and endless possibilities, for making rare cool sounds.
