Gravely sound and lag

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello! I am new to LMMS, as in I literally just got it, and I started off the bat with some problems. I tried playing some notes on the oscillator and they are gravely and lag tremendously. I did a bit of googling and nothing came up, so I came here. I've tried changeing the audo input and got no results. I tried the oscillator, some downloaded tracks and other miscilanous instrument and they all were the same. I am on windows 8 with the newest version of the software. Cheers!
Hi rvs314.
Welcome to the Lmms forums.

Check the Lmms settings menu and see if any weird symbols eg. % # * etc. are in the folder paths.
If so, remove all of them.

Did you try SDL?
If not, change the audio to SDL.
Close the Lmms settings menu, close Lmms and then Restart Lmms, so that the changes will take effect.

Remember, that when making changes in the Lmms Settings Menu, you must close Lmms and restart a while later,
so that the changes will take effect.

Tell us how it goes. :)

Welcome to the forum rvs314! First, For you all important links:

It does ..sound like the 'old' audio-devise selection issue.
The wiki does explain this
http://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=LMM ... o_Settings
So this is where to change things:

When you are at the Setting-tab, do make choices for efficiency, and decide if you like auto-backups, and other possibilities

(there are more settings on your version, than in the wiki :)
Hi again! I was able to fix it, I changed it to SDL and it sounded 100 times better! Thanks to brandystarbrite and musikbear for their input. Cheers!
