LMMS idea

Hi all!
I didn't make it in time for the LMMS competition, but I thought I'd share a work I did today using LMMS (and Audacity). It was made using mostly 3-OSC and LB302, but also a track or two with Synthv1, with a bit of chorus, delay and reverb to taste. You can hear it (if your browser supports it) in flac format, at this link:
Cairate-Electrified
If you can't open the flac file, I made a copy in ogg format here:
Cairate-Electrified
Comments welcome, of course!

Don't forget to upload it to

There is a definite 80' feeling in that track. Great soundscape and i really liked the way you use that sonar-ping. Subtle and yet effect-full The active bass under is nice and works great. The porta-pad is just lovely and you earned your <3 there :)

I agree with Musikbear; it sounds very 80's. I loved the Moog-like synth sounds and the bass (LB203 I'm guessing). Great work. The song is a bit long and repetitive, but if it's for a video that's ok (care to share the video though?).

Hi guys,
thanks for the feedback! (And thanks for the <3 and comments on Soundcloud!)
Yes, it's for a video (not online yet, I'll link to it when it's done). And while it will be sufficient, it's kind of in my mind to do something similar for another video, but with a bit more change along the way. Changing key at one point, for one. Dipping in and out of another atmosphere (softer, more dreamy), too.
I really enjoyed using LMMS on this project. Although I generally record in Audacity rather than in a DAW, it'd been a while since I last explored the synths, and I like what I'm seeing. The arp function is really useful, almost better than sequencing notes, where possible.
I did this work using version 1.1.3 on a Ubuntu Studio 12.04 pc (I can't update any further on this one unless I do a complete upgrade, which I'm holding off on). But I have a newer version of LMMS on another pc (should be the latest version, I have to check) and I want to go a bit deeper into LMMS this next time 'round. It's a very good project, this LMMS!

@gps: thank you!
@brandystarbrite: yes, admittedly a survivor of the 80s..! 3OSC is a very nice tool for this kind of thing!
Btw, can anyone tell me: will projects made in version 1.1.3 be usable in the latest version, or will there be conflicts?

The other day, I was wondering that very same thing.
