A new open-source DAW, LNX Studio, has the ability to have its users connect to other users through the Internet to collaborate on a single project, in real time. Basically, it's the Google Docs of DAWs. It's an amazing idea since it would make collaborating with other artists much much easier.
Can we get this feature in LMMS soon?

Good idea.
But for this LMMS should change format for project.
How i see it LMMS project is just folder with many files - each file is part of note pitches in some format like midi or text, or just binary file with numbers of semitones and other stuff like ptich bend velocity,
and each instrument settings is file, and each automation is a file
then we just use some Dropbox like service, and LMMS listening for project file changes, and then use hot reload for changed files

Right. If we used dropbox or something as a mounted external file, assuming the folder hierarchy was the same, all we would need is a script to sync the files and save a copy of every mmpz file.
