Tutorial 9 (We use Synth 1 Vst.)
How to make Brandy's:
SWELL SOUND
First off, Bring Synth 1 Vst into Lmms.
1) Open a good old default initial sound bank.
-----------------------------------------------------------
2) For this example, we will select the Saw symbol, for Osc 1 and Osc 2.
Or, if you want, put Osc 2, on another, symbol.
-----------------------------------------------------------
3) Leave Mix and the others, on their default positions seen in the pic.
-----------------------------------------------------------
4) Raise the Osc 1 det dial to 8 or a bit more, if you want.
Det stands for Detune, in case anyone one wanted to know.
-----------------------------------------------------------
5) In the good ol' Amplifier section.
A = 82 or slighty more, if you want.
D = 24 or 20
S = 0
R = 64
Things to note: Turning the A dial, to a number less than 82, means, the sound builds up faster.
Turning the dial slighty higher than 82, means the sound will take longer to build up.
----------------------------------------------------------
6) In the Filter section.
frq = 81
res = 14
sat = 40 or slightly more.
And make sure vel is on Green.
----------------------------------------------------------
7) LP 24 is what we want.
----------------------------------------------------------
8 ) In the Unison section.
Press the Unison button to turn it on. Green means it is on.
And turn the Pitch dial to 7.
----------------------------------------------------------
9) In the Tempo Delay section.
We turn the dials.....
fdbk = 72
d/w = 10, or slightly more if you want.
And that's it.
----------------------------------------------------------
10) Now, we need to test out and hear our Swell sound. So we'll make some test notes.
Make this test chord in the piano roll. And make it loop.
Test chord example 1
Or, try test chord example 2.
Or test chord example 3
I hope you enjoyed this tut.
