VST plugins with real drum samples.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi guys,

I'm giving LMMS a try because I'm thinking of moving purely from OS X to Linux Mint as my only OS, so far it's had everything I've needed. I'm looking for some "real" drum VST packs that I can use with piano roll, does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe something you already use or you've seen while browsing... Thanks guys

Welcome to the forum marcfreeman880! First, For you all important links:

Many 'drummachines' can be used with lmms, but a drummachine with only one pattern, will never be as interesting to listen to as a proper Beat&baseline, because B&B is variable, that is not the case for a drummachine.
You can read more about percussion in lmms here:

http://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Com ... ern_design
http://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=You ... First_Beat

But drummachines that does work in lmms, as listed in the vst-db:
http://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Tested_VSTs
could be:
Superior drummer http://www.toontrack.com/ -that looks like ok'ed for windows, but untested in linux

Ersdrums http://www.bostreammail.net/ers/ersdrums.html

.. and there are several more like Drummatic, but just scan the list for 'drum', then you can find whats tested.

And hydrogen should also be mentioned, bur here it is the samples that is being used, not the 'machine'
you can use LinuxSampler VST with LMMS (linuxsampler.org) with some SFZ banks like Open Source Drum Kit Project: 600 MB kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=277132
